Car School

So here is our class room for the next 4 weeks! We started this morning with our hymns, catechism songs, Bible, and character story time. We followed that with journaling then math and language seat work time. Now lest you picture a nice serene morning in the car with 3 diligently working kids and 2 toddlers quietly coloring in their car seats, let me paint a more accurate picture for you! Five minutes in, one of the girls was crying because the hymn we were learning had too many hard words in it. I realized I was on the completely wrong road to get to the interstate 5 miles from our house. Chloe asked every 10 minutes, "Is we's there yet?" (how'd she even know that was the perfect road trip question?!?) We had technology difficulties and bailed on character time altogether. And all 5 kids claimed car sickness 5 minutes into seat work time! My stellar parenting skills kicked in at this point and I told the girls that they were more than welcome to finish up their school work during swim time at the hotel tonight. :o) Amazingly the work got done by lunch time and we spent the afternoon watching a couple movies and listening to old Psalty tapes! So apparently there is a car school learning curve but I'm sure we'll get the hang of it by the end of this trip!
