We are spending some of our drive today fulfilling some of our pledges for Africa! Here are a few of the highlights...
Pledge - $1 every time you listen to any of the following songs -- the Iowa fight song, the Chicago Bears fight song, or "Go Cubs Go."
Oh Yes. We. Did.
Here the kids are making a "C" for Chicago while singing "Go Cubs Go!". (that turned out to be a favorite!)
Pledge - $3 any time history homework consists of teaching the kids the incredible tradition for the Cubs, Bears, or Hawks.
Ummm...anything for clean water in Africa!!!
Here are Libby's illustrations (she did this of her own accord!) from our history lesson read from Wikipedia while driving THROUGH Chicago! (extra points for that!)

Pledge - $10 every time you do a Chinese fire drill
This was our 4th fire drill of the trip! The first one we did was on gravel! (Bad move!!!) If I could get the video to load, you would see Ally jumping out of the van, taking off at a dead sprint, slipping on the gravel and disappearing off the screen followed by hysterical screaming! Not to mention Toby taking off across the parking lot (so glad I didn't do our first one in the street!) apparently missing the part about going around in a circle and then getting BACK into the van! Seriously, I could NOT. STOP. LAUGHING! (If you know Ally, the level of hysteria is rarely an indicator of the level of injury -- as was the case here. So I am not as bad of a momma as you may be thinking at this moment! :) ) Seriously...I still laugh every time I think about it.
So here is attempt #4!
