We've been in Colorado for 4 weeks now. One more week of Colorado family fun before we head to Missouri and Iowa. Many of our days have been routine including school in the morning and afternoons. This is partly because we are finishing up some straggling subjects from last year but also to give the kids as much "normal routine" as we can. It's been working well for us. But we've also taken plenty of time off for some great cousin fun! Here's a photo recap of the last couple weeks... (I'm SO not good at regularly blogging yet so you get it all at once!)
Yeah for Free Splash Parks!!!
We have visited 3 splash parks so far. Kids had a blast. We've had some uncharacteristically hot days since we've been here...several weeks in the 90s. We loved having a way to keep the kids cool!
Visiting Great Grandma "Tani"
Visiting the Compassion International Headquarters
For the last 3 years, we have sponsored 3 little girls in Ghana through Compassion International. When our 3 big girls were ages 3 and 4, we introduced each of them to a little girl in Ghana exactly their ages. Over the years, our girls have exchanged many letters and pictures with their Ghanaian friends. Its one of their biggest dreams to meet these little girls. We never would have guessed we would someday be living in the same city as these 3 little girls. We are SO excited to have the opportunity to be more a part of their lives when we get to Ghana.
One afternoon, we took a field trip to the Compassion International Headquarters and took a tour. It was neat to see the whole process. What an incredible organization. The heart they have for the children and families they serve was so evident. The President, Wes Stafford, even stopped and chatted with us for awhile in the lobby while the kids were climbing on the bigger then life size bronze Jesus. (Ally had said that morning that she couldn't wait to sit in Jesus's lap. Grandma knew just the place...)

Cow Appreciation Day at Chic Fil A!
Dress like a cow and get free food? We are SO IN! This was our first free food at Chic Fil A experience. Each adult got a free #1 meal and each of the kids got free kids meals. I am now a TOTAL fan!!!
Hiking/Wading in North Cheyenne Canyon
A Visit to Whit's End at Focus on the Family Headquarters
A Day at Pirate's Cove Water Park in Denver
This park was awesome for our aged kids. We had a perfect 90 degree day and there was plenty to do for the young ones and older ones alike.
We've had several fun events that deserve their own post. Pictures of our trip to the pre-rodeo, Grandma's "fancy" tea party, and Aunt Mandy's Amazing Cousin Carnival coming soon!
