Next Stop...Accra, Ghana!!!

I wrote this sitting in the Des Moines airport on Sun waiting to leave. I didn't realize my phone service had been cut off already... :(

It's been a long week! It was a little hit or miss last night on whether we'd actually get to go to bed. But at 3 am, we were finally able to get a couple hours sleep. We are now sitting in the Des Moines airport. We have successfully checked 12 plastic tubs, 2 suitcases, and 4 cars eats (all weighing in between 49 and 50.5 lbs! With a $100 fee for any bag over the 50 lb limit, I'm so glad they round down!). We were quite the crew going through security with our 7 roller carry-ons,7 backpacks, 3 laptops, and 3 pillows stuffed with snacks that we couldn't fit anywhere else! We're settled in now with lunch waiting to board our first flight to Chicago.

We are so thankful for all of you who have been loving us and praying for us in this journey. We have definitely felt God's love and protection during this process. Don and I were marveling the other night at God's goodness. In the last 6 months, we've experienced a job change, loss of a close loved one (Poppa with the Dogs), selling a house, starting a business, relocating to another country (I guess we can't count that one just yet)...all of these things are on the lists of top stresses on a marriage. Statistically speaking, our marriage and family should be hurting. And yet when people ask, I can honestly say we are doing well...really well. I am not naive enough to think this is from any merit of our own but God's goodness in our lives sustaining us right now. Thank you for our prayers...
