Team Farewells

Last week we said goodbye to Adam, Kim, and Jordyn.  They were the last of our team to head back to the States for the time being.  It was a little sad and kind of brought a new wave of grief for our kiddos.  Our original return date was supposed to be Feb 14 but as that day drew closer, we knew our time here needed to be extended a couple months as there was still so much to figure out before we could return to the States to prepare for our long term move to Ghana.  The kids handled the change of plans well but it was difficult as we said goodbyes to our team for now.  As of last week, our tickets have been changed and we will now be returning to the States April 22.

Here are some pics of our time with the team...

Apparently with so many people in the house, seating was scarce.  At one point I captured this picture of Don working...

Who needs a chair when you have an African drum?!?

Hair time with Aunt Josi!

Mr. Pat showing Toby how to make a "Guy's Bling Necklace"!

Most evenings, our dinner table was transformed into a ping pong table!

And night time power outages were WAY more fun with Infrared Ping Pong!!!

Knot tying class with Mr. Pat.  Little ones learned a double cross over and big kids learned a Bowline knot.

Morning Calisthenics class with Miss Melissa!  (I'm pretty sure there were some bird noises involved in this class.)

Art Class with Mr. Pat ~ today's lesson was on 3 dimensional drawings

Thanks to Mr. Pat, we now have 2 of these hanging from the mango tree in the back yard!

Pat and Melissa
The last couple of weeks have brought some changes to the team.  After much thought and prayer, Pat and Melissa have concluded that God has a different plan for them.  They will not be joining the Vytrak team full time or be returning to Ghana when we move back later this year.  Although we will miss them, we trust God's plan for them and know that He will use them wherever they are.  Love you guys!
